Getting started with Popups

Create your first popup, set triggers, and show content on your published WEMASY website.

Draft

Show targeted popups to visitors at the right moment. Use Popups to promote offers, capture leads, or highlight announcements on your published website.

What is Popups?

Popups is a WEMASY tool that displays a modal on your live site. You configure when it appears (time delay or scroll depth), which pages it runs on, and what content loads inside the popup.

Where to find it

Move your mouse to the left edge of the screen to open the product switcher. Select Popups from the list. The dashboard opens with links to manage all popups.

Before you begin

Make sure Popups is included in your plan, or that it is enabled for your project. You need a published WEMASY website so visitors can see popups on the live site.

Create your first popup

  1. Open Popups in the product switcher.
  2. Go to Popups in the top navigation, then click Create popup.
  3. Enter a Name (for your own reference in the dashboard).
  4. Set Content URL to the page or embed you want inside the popup (for example a form page, landing page, or external embed URL).
  5. Choose a Trigger type:
    • Time delay — shows after a number of seconds (for example 3).
    • Scroll depth — shows after the visitor scrolls a percentage (for example 30 or 30%).
  6. Optional: limit Pages to specific URL paths (one path per line). Use Show only on these pages or Hide on these pages.
  7. Leave Active enabled and click Save.

How it works on your website

After you save an active popup, WEMASY loads popup settings on your published site through the tracking script. Visitors see the modal when your trigger conditions match. If a visitor closes the popup and Respect close cookie is enabled, they will not see the same popup again in that browser session.

Manage existing popups

From the Popups list you can edit settings, toggle a popup active or inactive, or delete popups you no longer need. Inactive popups are not shown on the live site.

Learn more

More Popups articles will cover advanced triggers, templates, and analytics. Start with one simple time-delay popup on your homepage, then refine targeting and content URL as you go.

Tip: Pair Popups with Forms by using a form page URL as your Content URL to capture leads inside the modal.
